We'd like to share some reflections and extend our gratitude for our first 'Let's Define' conference. We tend to get caught up in the nitty-gritty details of our work. This perfectionist approach works well when you're a design studio, but it can be a roadblock when you're trying to kickstart an event from scratch. That's where the community steps in. Enthusiasts at embacy and kidults had this idea for a conference, and we were all in without hesitation. We aimed to bring together industry professionals and those looking to grow. Plus, ensure there's beer at the venue. Hopefully, it was a networking boost for everyone.
We managed to put together a packed program. Sasha Zagorsky shared insights from Aliexpress CIS, Mike Shishkin dissected design concepts, and Vadim Orlov sparked a heated debate questioning whether any concept is necessary for creating brand identity.Carmen García Sanz from Cocota Studio took a special trip from Madrid to guide us through the intersection of brand and digital design.
Valentina Marun and Danae Gomez Lois from Vandals helped us shed biases about design concepts. Finally, Tim Cowlishaw dove into the philosophy of design concepts, showing how design gives meaning to our lives, and with Sveta Turkina we explored how alterations in design methods will impact and shape our future. We didn't expect such a response when we were forming the lineup during the summer. Thanks to everyone who joined.
